About the Recipe

As someone who doesn't drink alcohol but loves a fun drink, mocktails are my go-to! I started making mocktails after starting a project, which is to remain a mystery for now, and there were quite a few cocktails for me to recreate. I then challenged myself to make non-alcoholic versions.

This one is by far my favorite because I love the floral notes from the butterfly pea tea, and it is just gorgeous!

Ingredients

  • 6 oz butterfly pea flower tea brewed and cooled.

  • 2 oz fresh lemon juice

  • 1.5 oz maraschino cherry syrup

  • 1 oz simple syrup

  • Ice

  • 2 lemon twists or maraschino cherries for garnish

Preparation

Step 1


Steep butterfly pea flowers (or use tea bags) in hot water for 5–10 minutes, then let it cool completely. The tea should be a deep blue before mixing.


Step 2


Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.


Step 3


Add butterfly pea tea, fresh lemon juice, maraschino cherry syrup, and simple syrup.


Step 4


Secure the lid and shake for 15–20 seconds until chilled.


Step 5

Divide into two coupe or martini glasses.


Step 6


Add a lemon twist or a maraschino cherry on a cocktail pick.
